Yes, this is called Making a Mess. I betcha your parents will let you make these yummy messes more often, if you clean up the goo afterwards. Just pretend you are a pirate doing kitchen duty, and have fun "swabbing the deck." In any case just to be safe, especially around the hot stuff, it's good to have your parents around to help.
